breakfast of champions
The best thing about being in the States at the moment is the exchange rate - one great British pound currently buys 2 fat US dollars - perfect, and an excuse to spend more than you normally would through convincing yourself that you’re getting a great deal.
So this week I’ve had breakfast in Balthazar every day.

This is probably the most decadent place to start the day. A vast French bistro, tucked in on a side street in Soho and a true institution. Large bowls of coffee or chocolate, fresh fruit and juice and wonderful eggs anyway you want them. A decent sized brekkie won’t put you back much more that £10 per person. If you go, have the Scrambled Eggs in puff pastry with mushrooms and asparagus (apologies for the rubbish photo!).

I could probably do lunch each day as well, as the steak frites is very special, but then things would just be getting a little sad.
