Dim Sum and Dim T

A short and quick review, as it was a short and quick meal, but in no way bad and next visit will be for a far longer sitting. We popped in at Dim T on Friday night, purely out of curiosity as we drive by it so much – daily in fact – but until now had no idea what it was like. The ‘judging-a-book-by-it’s-cover’ opinion for me was of a West End Noodle bar done good so expanding out, but with little authenticity or flair. How wrong.

Dim T

Dim T has several locations, including the West End, but also Highgate, Hampstead, London Bridge and Gloucester Road. It offers an Asian menu with everything that you’d expect – Noodles, Green Curry, dim sum and Crispy Duck, but also a few dishes I rarely see such as Gado Gado Salad – a huge plate of chopped veg, tofu, hard boiled eggs and a spicy peanut sauce.

The Noodles work well with the option of creating your own. First choose the main ingredient chicken, steak, prawns, salmon, pork or tofu. Then your noodles and toppings and finally your preferred style of cooking – wok fried or soup. Vegetarians are covered well with a choice of veg broth and a fair amount of tofu options.

The Sake served by 1/4 bottle was served hot, perfect to beat the rain beating down outside, but the beer options were lacking with only Sapporo on offer and no dark beers.

The incredible fact about Dim T is the value. Prices are incredibly reasonable and for such a modern, stylised interior you’d expect to pay a little more – but who’s complaining…

Dim T is a great option for a quick meal and really shows places like Wagamama up – look out for it and drop in if you can.
